#2: Peace in Jesus 12-6-09Isaiah 9:1-7 Everyone says that they want peace but, in my experience, few people have it. Those who do have peace are not luckier than the others or richer than others. Their peace comes from inside. God gives us peace not by making everything in our lives easy and pleasant but by drawing us close to himself.
#3: Joy in Jesus 12-13-09Luke 1:26-56 Isn't it ironic that the world thinks that God is a killjoy (forbidding all the fun stuff of life) when he is really the only source of real joy? Everywhere Jesus went, he elicited strong reactions. Some hated and attacked him but those with open hearts to God received him with joy...even before he was born.
#4: Love in Jesus 12-20-09John 3:16, 1 John 4:7-21 Even the Buddhists know that Jesus was all about love, calling him the "guru of love." Jesus teaches us that life is all about relationships--love God and love others is the core of his message. His whole incarnation was an object lesson in the love of God. |
